Timmons Group
Richmond, VA

Timmons Group designed and provided construction administration support on several stream restoration projects throughout Virginia for Chesapeake Bay TMDL compliance. Those projects included Fleets Branch in Petersburg, VA, Rockfish Run in Waynesboro, VA, Gypsy Hill Park in Staunton, VA, Brooks Park in Staunton, VA, and Stony Run Branch in Ashland, VA. Each site presented unique constraints and had its own challenges discovered during both the design and construction phases. Challenges faced during construction administration ranged from natural disasters to unexpected conflicts.

This presentation will focus on areas of concern identified during design, initial structure installation during construction, and finding the best solution to progress forward when unexpected circumstances arise. It will touch on the importance of coordination with the contractors and clients, managing construction administration tasks, as well as ideas employed to ensure the success of the design and construction.
