Stream Tools App Introduction and Overview

Stream Tools is a Civil3d add-in, developed to improve creation of three-dimensional surfaces for stream restoration design. Stream Tools was designed to improve communication between designers and contractors to improve restoration outcomes. While there are numerous companies with in-house programs for channel design, this tool is available to everyone at a reasonable cost. The tool is intuitive, reducing the amount of time it takes to train someone to use it, and it runs quickly, allowing designers to spend more time focused on geomorphology and restoration design. It is our intention to continue to develop this program to meet the needs of a wide user base and to develop the tool to work beyond the creation of three-dimensional design, such as improving workflows.

About Andrea Taillacq
Andrea and Greg Taillacq formed Tailwater Limited with the vision of supporting stream restoration. Through our involvement in numerous projects across the United States, we have had the pleasure of working with some amazing and talented people that have furthered our understanding of rivers. Working with others, we realized the opportunity for developing improvements the methods used in assessing streams and performing stream restoration designs. We have developed tools such as Stream Tools and Geomorphic Assessment Tools (GAT). We are currently wrapping up a large-scale watershed assessment in Southern Colorado and are in the process developing a vision for the future. We continually work to grow and strengthen our network and work with others.
